Roy still volunteers at Christie Lake Camp

In Aug. 2005, Roy attempted to break his one minute record (138) at Christie Lake Camp and was able to achieve 148 push ups in one minute.  In his effort to register this record, Guinness responded by stating that they had rested the one minute category. Roy is still the record holder with 138.

Christie Lake Camp in Westport, Ontario, has inspired Roy to test the limits of his own strength, stamina, and persistence to succeed. Roy attended Christie Lake as a camper for seven summers and was a staff member for thirteen. In the winter months he participated in the inner-city program, now known as the STAR (Skills Through Activity and Recreation) program.  This program provided him with the opportunity to have year round contact with the staff. Roy firmly believes that it is the connection over time, year after year, and the high quality skill-building programs that make Christie Lake Kids so successful. Roy still volunteers at the camp today.
